Cleans Better, Dries Faster, Stays Cleaner Longer, and It Smells Great!

There are a couple things people overlook when in comes to Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and two of those are your CARPET and DUCT SYSTEM (HVAC   duct system) and most everyone has BOTH.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommendations on carpet cleaning are below.

EPA Recommendation for Carpet Cleaning

And not only will cleaning your carpets, area rugs and furniture provide better air quality in your home or office it is also likely to increase the life of your carpet. Carpet wears out much more quickly when it is not cleaned when it should be, and like MOST things if it isn’t maintained it will wear out much more quickly.

The “givens” for getting the carpet cleaned are usually “move in” or “move out.” And while those are good times to have the carpet professionally cleaned, that is not nearly enough. Most people do not get their carpet cleaned when they should, they get it cleaned when they “have to.” That usually means when they are expecting company (holidays, party, in-laws, parents etc.) or when they can actually see spots so there is visual soiling or discoloration. Carpet is much more important than that and should be treated as such. When the carpet isn’t cleaned the contaminants including dirt that are in the carpet grind on the carpet fibers with general traffic and wear them out causing the carpet to wear out more quickly and have to be replaced more often. CHA-CHING!

For example, do you go to the dentist when you SEE stuff on your teeth, or do you maintain them regularly for all the obvious reasons? Or do you only do laundry when you SEE dirt or discolorations on clothes or do you wash them on a regular basis?

Another way to think of it is like this “Do you wait until  you motor locks up to change the oil?” Probably not. Even though you can’t see the oil you know it is dirty and needs to be change or you will have to replace your engine. CHA-CHING! Obviously maintaining your engine is far less expensive then replacing the engine. Same thing applies to carpet.

And then the more over looked HVAC DUCT WORK!

Your duct system functions as the respiratory system of your home. When it becomes contaminated and congested, it should be cleaned so it can “breathe” normally and efficiently. Dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander, and other airborne contaminants are pulled into your duct system every time the furnace or air conditioner runs. These contaminants build up inside the ductwork over time and can help make your duct system an ideal breeding ground for mold spores, bacteria, fungus, mildew and other microbes. Each time the furnace or air conditioner is turned on, contaminants are spewed out and circulated throughout your home and affect the health and comfort of your family. Family members who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory ailments as well as children and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the effects of indoor air pollutants. The removal of contaminants from the entire HVAC system is recognized by industry experts as the most effective way to eliminate air duct pollutants.  This is referred to as the “source removal” method of duct cleaning.  In addition to the obvious health benefits, duct cleaning can help you maintain a cleaner home.  It also helps restore HVAC system capacity and lessen running time, resulting in lower heating and cooling bills.

And if you have a dryer vent that goes UP anywhere in your home, PLEASE watch it, because it will clog very quickly and become a fire hazard.
